Planning hardware orders around the autumn sourcing season
How wholesale buyers can sequence fastener and tool orders so packing and shipment dates stay predictable.

Start with the lines that share packing
Fasteners, hinges and slides usually travel together in mixed containers, so the packing specification for each line decides when the container can close. Buyers who confirm carton counts, label sizes and inner pack quantities early avoid reworking cartons at the end of production.
Where an order includes both hardware products and hand tools, splitting the packing schedule into two waves keeps the first shipment moving while the second line is still in production.
Keep one confirmed specification per item
Each item should carry a single confirmed specification covering material, finish, dimensions and packing. Repeating that specification on the order confirmation prevents small differences between the sample, the quotation and the delivered batch.
For repeat orders, the previous confirmed specification is the starting point, and any change is noted before production begins.
